Community Downtown is our new off-site facility that houses our Counseling program, our Small Group ministry base and some of our Focus support groups. The building is located at 522 7th Street two blocks north of the library. This wonderful addition to our church is made possible by generous donations of some members of our church.

How is therapy Christian?
The biblical basis for therapy is found in the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12”2 when he states, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Another biblical concept rooted in therapy is the word Repentance. In the Bible, the word for “repentance”, metanoia, means to “change your mind.” The goal of Christian-oriented therapy is to help people grow in Christ by learning to discipline their minds.

Community Downtown (CDT), the satellite counseling office for Community Church of Columbus, offers counseling that is Christ-centered and confidential. Counseling services are available for marriage, individual or family issues. Pre-marital counseling services are also available.
All counseling referrals are made directly to Scott Hundley, Director of Counseling and Community. Scott can be reached at 376-9478. Generally an assessment is made and, should we not be able to provide the service, we will work to help you find the appropriate care to meet you needs.
