From Scott Hundley, Director of Counseling & Community…
On a cold November night in 1989, I made the single most important relational decision I would ever make. When asked if I would take Penny Botkin to be my wife, I made the lifelong commitment of “I do!” It was a decision I have never regretted and choose to remain committed to.
As I grow in my walk with Christ and in the context of community, I have become increasingly aware of two things: (1) God created marriage, loves marriage, and will give us all we need to not just make marriage “work” but be wonderful and, (2) no marriage is perfect and can always be enriched.
I believe most married couples can use more fun and time away in their lives. As we go through our days filled with managing all of our responsibilities and schedules, sometimes we all need to just intentionally take time to reconnect.
I am thrilled that our second annual MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT RETREAT will be on Feb 26th & 27th at Salt Creek Golf
Resort. Signups begin on Sunday, January 31st. Detailed information regarding cost and accommodations are available in the ministry mall or on-line at www.cccolumbus.org . Our guest speakers this year will be Tommy and Pat Oaks from Knoxville Tennessee. If you are familiar with the Oaks, you know you will not want to miss it! There is a limited number of spots available, so please make sure to sign up immediately. The deadline to register is Sunday, February 14th.
Why not take time to have fun, reconnect, and remind yourselves why you fell in love and got married in the first place? Scott
