 Food Policy

What food should I provide for my baby?

Infants will be fed formula, milk, juice or water as provided by their parent in a plastic bottle. Please label each child's bottle with their name.

What about snack food?

We will feed your infant snack food that you provide. Be sure that it is labeled with your child's name. Please make sure that your child has had their regular meal at home.

Where can I nurse my baby?

Mothers who nurse their baby may do so in the nursery or in "quiet room", Room 206, provided especially for you on Sunday mornings.

What about drinks and snacks for my toddler?

Toddlers may have a sipper cup from home, clearly labeled with his/her name.  Small snacks such as Cheerios will be provided during the nursery time. Please indicate on the sign-in sheet if this is permissible for your child.

My child has a food allergy -- what should I do?

If your child has a known food allergy, please notify the staff verbally each time your child comes to the nursery and in writing on the "special instructions" portion of the sign-in sheet. We will include that information on their name tag.

What if my child needs medication?

Medications cannot be given by the nursery personnel.

Katie Booth will be happy to discuss any questions and concerns you have for your child.  Contact Katie at 376-9478.

 Health Policy

To protect the health of your child and all the children we serve in the nursery, please do not bring your child who appears to be ill or when the following conditions exist:

  • Fever - either now or in the past 24 hours
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Pink eye or other eye infection
  • Sore throat
  • Any symptom of childhood diseases such as measles, mumps or chicken pox
  • Common cold
  • Abnormal discharge from eyes, ears or nose
  • Skin infections
  • Unexplained rash
  • Head lice
  • Any acute infectious disease

The nursery staff will not admit a child with any of these conditions.

What if my child becomes ill after spending time in the nursery?

If your child develops an infectious disease after attending our nursery, please notify the Katie Booth, Early Childhood Coordinator, so that she may inform other families of their child's possible exposure.  Toys are washed at the end of every nursery session to minimize the spread of germs.

What about my child's allergy or non-contagious condition or a special need?

Please notify the nursery staff of any allergic conditions or non-contagious medical condition.  If your child has a special physical condition that may require special interventions, please contact Katie Booth at 376-9478 to make prior arrangements.

My child is on medication -- can I bring that to the nursery?

We do not administer any medication.
