 How Parents Can Help

To help your child learn to feel comfortable with their church surroundings and friends, bring them to church on a regular basis.

Infants should begin attending nursery during their first year. The earlier the transition, the easier it will be for the child, parents, caregivers, and nursery staff.

Sign in your child properly and completely each time your child comes to the nursery.

Be sure to label all of your child's belongings (bottles, sipper cups, diaper bags, coats).

Be sure to include a change of clothes in their diaper bag in case of spills or soils.

It seems to help the child if you leave him/her quickly and do not return until it is time to pick them up. Most fussing stops within a few minutes and becomes less common with regular attendance. Our door's one-way mirrors allow for you to observe the child's behavior.

In consideration of our staff, volunteers and your child, please be prompt in picking up your child.

Express your thanks to the many volunteers who make our nursery ministry work so well.

Volunteer as a nursery helper once a quarter. If as a parent, you decide to be involved in the nursery ministry, you will enjoy meeting the many people who care for your child and you will also get a first hand look at how the nursery ministers to your child.

If you are interested in helping, please sign up in the Ministry Mall or call Katie Booth, Early Childhood Coordinator, at 376-9478 or katie@cccolumbus.org.
